60th Annual Conference and Equipment Show
May 1-4, 2018
On behalf of the Chapter's Leadership, we are pleased to announce open registration for the annual 2018 Mid-Atlantic Public Works Conference and Equipment Show! We invite you and your colleagues to join with us in Fredericksburg, Virginia for the 60th Mid-Atlantic Conference and Equipment Show. The Mid-Atlantic Conference and Equipment Show will take place May 1-4, 2018 at the Fredericksburg Expo Center. Plan to network with hundreds of other public works professionals at the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Conference and Equipment Show.
The Mid-Atlantic Conference and Equipment Show provides each participant the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others and the chance to network with equipment suppliers and manufacturers’ representatives, public agency specialists, staff from construction contracting and engineering firms. Once again, the technical program features numerous and diverse presentations and opportunities for sharing in discussions of challenges facing public works. The content-rich education sessions will cover emergency management; winter operations; asset management; public works advocacy; water resources; storm water, other infrastructure engineering and management practices; equipment and fleet management, and other topics. Continuing education units (CEUs) will be available where the APWA administrative costs are included with each full conference registration.
At the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Conference and Equipment Show, plan to join us for:
* College Scholarship Golf Fundraiser at the Lees Hill Golf Club. This event pairs public agency folks with their colleagues from across the region. Registration is forth coming.
* Road-E-O has become very popular the last few years, so we look for regional winners from around the Chapter's service area to showcase the talents with multiple course competitions. Road-E-O participants compete in skills events which include operation of public works equipment (streets sweepers, backhoes, loaders, dump trucks, trash trucks). Events will be timed and judged with prizes awarded to the top contestants.
* Professional networking with more than ample opportunity for informal discussions during breaks, lunches, Wednesday evening's opening reception with exhibitors/sponsors, and at the Thursday evening reception.
* Technical program featuring numerous, diverse presentations.
For our Road-E-O equipment suppliers and corporate exhibitors and sponsors, we are using multiple lists so you may receive duplicates of this message, or you may have been contacted directly by members of our Chapter leadership, to once again consider supporting our annual Mid-Atlantic Conference and Equipment Show. Your company may have been a prior event exhibitor and/or sponsor and we thank you for continuing to support the Chapter activities. Thursday Evening Reception
Last year we enjoyed the warm hospitality of the A. Smith Bowman Distillery. We will have a similar location for this year's event and will update once all details have been finalized.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs)/Professional Development Hours (PDHs) will be included with the full conference registration for those in need of this certification. You will need to sign in at the registration desk in order to pick up the tracking sheet and sign out at the registration desk when returning the completed tracking form. Please begin to consider volunteering at this year's conference as a technical presenter, room moderator or room monitor.
APWA's Mid-Atlantic Chapter Awards Program was established to recognize outstanding individuals and groups representing the best achievements in the Public Works profession in our Chapter! Full Registration includes all events except Golf and Road-E-O participation. Single Day (Thursday), includes breakfast, lunch, and break refreshments only. Conference cancellations eligible for refunds must be received in writing by 5pm April 28. A $25 cancellation fee will be applied. No refunds after April 28. No refunds for no-shows.
Early bird registration deadline is Friday. March 30, 2018.
Registration closes Friday, April 20, 2018.

Becoming an exhibitor is a great way to showcase your business, product, and equipment. Standard Exhibit Booth is 10’ x 10’ and includes: 8-ft backdrape, 3’ siderails, 1-topped & skirted table, 2-folding chairs, 1-ID sign, 1-wastebasket. Large Exhibit Booth is 30’ x 30’. Exhibit registration includes attendance for 2. Please provide contact information for the 2 people who will be attending the conference. Names need to be provided at time of registration. Substitutes must be received in writing no later than COB April 13, 2018.
